3D scanning for metallurgy & paper
3D scanning in metallurgy and paper surveys the real geometry of production lines (rollers, cylinders, steelwork, machines) to inspect them, align them or reverse-engineer heavy equipment. Rollers out of adjustment, worn tools, lost drawings: we measure the real asset and return it in usable form.
Talk about my lineYour challenges
- Roller or cylinder lines out of adjustment, degrading quality and productivity
- Wear and deformation of tools and components under heavy load
- Steelwork, structures and heavy machines whose drawings have been lost
- Heavy maintenance to prepare as tightly as possible during a shutdown
Our answers
Real-world case
Roller alignment on a production line
Metallurgists, plastics processors and papermakers run lines that can include several hundred rollers, over hundreds of metres. Quality and productivity depend on mastering the position of each roller and the parallelism between them. SCAD surveys around forty rollers in a day, with an accuracy of 0.05 mm @ 8 m, and provides a report giving the position of each roller and its parallelism deviation relative to a reference roller.
